Paul McGowan signed a season long loan deal with St Mirren Football Club on July 27th.

The 22-year-old - who is a product of the Celtic Park youth system - spent season 2006-2007 out on loan with Morton where his 14 goals in 44 games helped the Greenock side to win the Second Division Championship.

The following season the forward made his first team debut for Celtic on September 15th 2007 when he came on as a substitute in a SPL match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Midway through the 2008-2009 season, McGowan came on as substitute in a Champions' League match against Villarreal then weeks later he went on loan to Hamilton Academical for the remainder of that season.

Last season Paul started Celtic's Europa League tie against Rapid Vienna in Austria where he scored the 90th minute equaliser for the Glasgow side who were at one stage 3-0 down.

Paul follows Scott Cuthbert and Graham Carey as Celtic players who also had loan spells with St Mirren in recent seasons.

The following table shows the player's St Mirren related stats across all competitive games in the following competitions; SPL, SFL First Division, Scottish Cup, League Cup and Challenge Cup.
