A Paisley boy, Marc came through the various ranks of Saints youth system.

During the 2006-2007 season he got his first taste of first team football when he went on-loan to Stranraer.  But the central defender made his first team debut for Saints when he came on as a substitute in a SPL game against Gretna on March 29th, 2008.

The youngster was a regular fixture in the reserve side that finished in 3rd place in season 2008-2009 but come the end of the season he only had another 4 first team substitute appearances to his name, so it was no big surprise that when Queen of the South came looking for the Scotland Under 21 internationalist that he made the move to Palmerston Park in the search for first team football.

But on Friday, July 16th 2010 Marc McAusland made a return to St Mirren Park when he put pen to paper on a 3 year deal.

The following table shows the player's St Mirren related stats across all competitive games in the following competitions; SPL, SFL First Division, Scottish Cup, League Cup and Challenge Cup.
