A youth player with St Mirren, David has gone on to make himself a first team regular over the last couple of seasons.
Season 2007-2008 was a break-through year for the defender as he made his debut for Saints when he started in a SPL match against Kilmarnock. That was the first of 22 starts over the season for David who also managed to get on the score-sheet in a 3-0 win against Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup.
Under contract with Saints up till the end of the 2010-2011 season, Barron has became 'Mr Versatile' of the defence as he can play in any of the four positions at the back.
