A youth player with St Mirren, David has gone on to make himself a first team regular over the last couple of seasons.

Season 2007-2008 was a break-through year for the defender as he made his debut for Saints when he started in a SPL match against Kilmarnock. That was the first of 22 starts over the season for David who also managed to get on the score-sheet in a 3-0 win against Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup.

Under contract with Saints up till the end of the 2010-2011 season, Barron has became 'Mr Versatile' of the defence as he can play in any of the four positions at the back.

The following table shows the player's St Mirren related stats across all competitive games in the following competitions; SPL, SFL First Division, Scottish Cup, League Cup and Challenge Cup.
