Darren started his senior career with Cowdenbeath in 2003 but in the summer of 2006 he was released by the Blue Brazil to sign for Junior side Arniston Rangers.
Two years later the defender was back at Central Park with Cowdenbeath under new manager Danny Lennon, going on to help the Fife side to back to back promotions.
When Danny took over the managerial reins at St Mirren this summer, McGregor was one of his first signing targets.
