Billy signed for Saints on July 27th, 2005 from Dunfermline Athletic.
He started out his career as a youth player with FA Premiership side West Ham United but unfortunately never made it into the first team.
During his time at Upton Park he also had loan spells with Bristol City, Gillingham and Grimsby Town.
The striker was brought to St Mirren Park to bring much needed strength and height to the forward line for the 2005-2006 League campaign but unfortunately due to illness and injury his first team starts were curtailed but fortunately he got back to full fitness just in time for the all important League run-in and he scored the winning goal in Saints 2-1 victory against Dundee on April 15th, a win which secured the First Division Championship for Saints.
The goal was also Billy's debut goal for the Club.
Has been capped at Under 21 level for the Republic of Ireland.
Billy netted 12 goals last season, taking the top scorer award jointly with Andy Dorman.
