Andy Dorman officially signed for Saints on January 1st, 2008 from MLS (Major League Soccer) side the New England Revolution, accepting an 18 month deal with the option of a further year which has since been taken.

Although born in Chester in England, Dorman was brought up in Wales and went on to be capped for the Welsh Under 18 side.

In 2000 he headed to Boston University in the USA after being offered a soccer scholarship. Four years later MLS side, the New England Revolution drafted the midfielder - who was 58th overall pick in the draft that year.

The 2006 season was a major breakthrough for Dorman as he played in 32 games - scoring six goals from his deep midfield position and he also played a part in creating ten other goals. He ended the season by being awarded the 'Midnight Riders' Man of the Year' - the New England Revolutions' Player of the Year.

In 2007 Dorman was part of the New England Revolution side that won the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup as they beat FC Dallas 3-2 in the final which was played at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas. But the season ended in disappointment as the 'Revs' lost the MLS Cup final for the third year running - the second time in succession at the hands of the Houston Dynamo. The final was played at the RFK Stadium in Washington DC with the 'Revs' losing 2-1.

In November 2007 Dorman parted company with the New England Revolution as he was keen to get back to the UK to try and further his career. He left the Gillette Stadium side having scored 17 goals in 84 starts and a further 37 appearances from the substitutes' bench.

Since signing for Saints he has become a big fans' favourite thanks to his surging goal scoring runs. Dorman was the Club's joint top goal scorer last season as he netted the ball on 12 occasions.

Although not capped as yet, Andy was in the Wales squad for the friendly match against Scotland earlier this season.

The following table shows the player's St Mirren related stats across all competitive games in the following competitions; SPL, SFL First Division, Scottish Cup, League Cup and Challenge Cup.
