On September 22nd 2009 midfielder Allan Johnston put pen to paper on a contract that will see him ply his trade as a St Mirren player until the end of this season.
The 35-year-old had been training with St Mirren since the pre-season and he will be sure to bring a bit more creativity and experience into the side over the season.
Football life for Allan Johnston started with Hearts but after six seasons at Tynecastle he headed for pastures new when he joined French League side Rennes in 1996.
A year later he was back in the UK after Sunderland came calling for his services but some of his time there saw him out on-loan to Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers.
During the summer of 2000 Johnston joined Rangers but 14 months later he was on the move again, this time to Middlesbrough after Rangers accepted a £600,000 transfer bid for him.
The midfielder spent three seasons at the Riverside Stadium which included a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday during the 2002-2003 season.
Johnston signed up for Kilmarnock during the summer of 2005 and left them over the summer.
Has been capped 18 times for the Scottish National side.
