Winter continues to maintain its icy grip but St Mirren manager, Danny Lennon has been taking advantage of some very nice facilities to keep his squad ticking over.

He explained, "Despite the bad weather we have been able to prepare very well this week. We had a game against Cowdenbeath at St Mirren Park last Saturday which was great as Paul Gallacher and Craig Dargo both got a full 90 minutes.

"On Monday at Toryglen we played Motherwell in two one hour games and then yesterday we went to the new indoor facility at Ravenscraig which is excellent."

Postponements have become a regular fixture over the last month but as far as Danny is concerned tomorrow's game will go ahead which means that it will be a short Christmas for him and his players.

Danny said, "We've heard nothing from Inverness or the SPL that would indicate that the game will be postponed so as far as we are concerned it is game on. The last couple of days I have kept putting the 'game on' message across to the players.

"We are travelling up later today to Inverness and while I know that myself, the coaching staff and players will be away from our families on Christmas Day we all know that this is part of the sacrifice that you make as being a professional in football.

"It is a 365 day a year job and you have got to be professional about it. Sure I would love to be with my family for the whole day today but if I can't be then there are no people other than our squad and coaching staff that I would rather be with."

The Saints gaffer is glad to report that more of his injured players are getting back to full fitness: "The injuries are beginning to clear up. Lee Mair has been in at the last few training sessions and Craig Dargo and Paul Gallacher have come through a good week.

"Hugh Murray is working on non contact stuff and he should be seeing the doctor in the next few days for an update on his progress.

"Also, Nick Hegarty isn't too far away from being involved again, hopefully by the middle of January."

Tomorrow St Mirren will face an Inverness Caley side who are one of the hottest sides in the league at present. Danny is well aware of how well Terry Butcher's side have been playing but he takes his side to the Highlands with confidence.

Danny said, "Inverness are a side who are on top of their game just now. I went to see them in their game against Hearts last week and what I saw was a very well organised side that know what they are all about.

"They have a lot of players who do a big job for them and it is plain to see that they have such a fantastic team spirit.

"We know Inverness will be a very difficult place to go but we have had a very good week's worth of preparations and we have a strong belief that we can put on a very positive display and, more importantly, earn a very positive result.

"After a two week lay-off everybody is raring to go. I feel that the start-stop situation over December had an effect on our performance in the game against St Johntone but we will be looking to get past that tomorrow."

Today is Christmas and the Saints manager passes on season's greeting to the fans but also sends out a note of caution.

He said, "First and foremost I want to wish all our fans a very Merry Christmas.

"To the fans who are going to make the journey up to Inverness, the weather has been dreadful the last few weeks so I ask that you make sure that you are well prepared and have a safe journey to and from the game.

"We really appreciate that our fans will be making the effort in these conditions to get to Inverness tomorrow and we will be doing our best to make your journey a worthwhile one."
