U19: St Mirren 1-0 Partick Thistle
David Longwell's Under 19 side reached the next round of the SFA Youth Cup as they won 1-0 against Partick Thistle this evening at St Mirren Park.
The 3rd round tie wasn't a great spectacle as both sides found it hard to break down their opposition.
Saints made the breakthrough on the 65th minute but it had more than a touch of fortune about it. Bradley Coyne got himself in line for a shot which he fired towards goal but then Ryan Frances deflected the ball to send it flying past the Partick keeper and into the back of the net.
The visitors hit the crossbar but they couldn't find a way past Saints to get back on level terms despite Dominic Kennedy being red carded for a second cautionable offence with 5 minutes remaining.
