Last Saturday, St Mirren fan John Gibb took part in the Sponsored Artemis 100 Highland Bike Ride, from Kenmore to Killin in order to raise money for Childrens Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and Cancer Research.

John was part of a team of six cyclists who called themselves 'The Chain Gang' and he gave us an update today on how things went.

He said, "On Saturday 11th September 2010, The Chain Gang, including a few Buddies Suporters, entered the Artemis 100 Sponsored cycle ride to raise some money for CHAS.

"We have raised over £3,650 for CHAS, with Kenny successfully completing the Gold, Eric, Dom and Paul the Silver and Norman and John the Bronze.

"The weather was very mixed, starting with torrential rain and lightning, followed by high winds and eventually sunshine and light showers.

"It was a real challenge but each one found it very invigorating and enjoyed the day.

"We would like to thank all our sponsors who helped make the pain and the sufferring worthwhile."
