It has been confirmed this evening that St Mirren have signed left sided midfielder Nick Hegarty until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has been on trial at the Club for a few weeks now and has impressed manager Danny Lennon.

Hegarty was a youth player with English side Grimsby Town where he went on to make 108 appearances as a first team player before being released at the end of last season.

In his six years as a first team player at Blundell Park, Nick also had loan spells with Whitby Town, Willenhall Town and York City.
