Paul McGowan - A New Challenge
Paul McGowan signed a season long loan deal with St Mirren this evening; we caught a brief chat with him shortly before he headed to Cappielow for the Renfrewshire Cup final.
He said, "I've just signed a loan deal for this season so I'm really happy with that. I need to start playing games so I'm looking forward to being with St Mirren.
"It is a new challenge for me, but when Danny Lennon phoned me he was really positive and everything about coming here to St Mirren sounded really good. So I'm really delighted to be here."
Paul had a very successful loan spell with Morton a few seasons back and as he heads to Cappielow for tonight's Renfrewshire Cup final he isn't sure if he'll be able to take part in the game but he is pretty sure that he will get some attention from the Morton fans.
He said, "I'm not 100% sure if I'm eligible for tonight. I trained today with Celtic so as you can imagine this has all happened really quickly.
"I am going down to Cappielow but I'm not sure if I'll be able to take part or not.
"I might get a few boos from the Morton fans having played with them before but I'm really looking forward to coming here to St Mirren."
