Gus - Pre-Match Talk
While manager Gus MacPherson believes that the draw on Saturday at Falkirk has got his team all but safe in terms of keeping their SPL status he is well aware that this isn't a time to get complacent.
He said, "I think the point we took at Falkirk on Saturday could turn out to be a massive point for us in our bid to retain our SPL status.
"There is still a wee bit of work to be done but it would also require a bizarre set of results to have us involved in the thick of the relegation situation again.
"I suppose you should never count your chickens so we have got to make sure that we are still focused on our final two games."
There is also a possibility of moving a place up the table and while Gus acknowledges that he maintains that his side can only concentrate of what they can do.
He said, "To move up a place in the league, that is dependent on results elsewhere, for us tomorrow's game is important enough to be getting on with.
"We only have to look at Hamilton and the way they have been playing over the last two or three months and how consistent they have been, that is the kind of example that we have got to look at.
"We have got to make sure that we are as focused towards this game as we have been in the last two or three games."
The Saints gaffer doesn't envisage many changes in the squad going into tomorrow's fixture as he'll be looking to get as much from the game as he can.
He said, "We have no fresh injuries to report. We will be missing Chris Innes who is suspended but Lee Mair will come back into the squad after serving his one match suspension.
"I don't expect to make any changes in the squad unless they are enforced on us, we must go into tomorrow's game being as competitive as we possibly can be."
St Mirren have struggled against Hamilton this season but Gus reckons the games have been close and that his side will be looking for the right result tomorrow.
He said, "Hamilton are playing with a lot of confidence, Billy Reid and his staff have done a fantastic job with their players this season. Even since getting themselves into a safe position they have carried on with their momentum and picked up good wins both home and away.
"We lost a very late goal the last time we were at New Douglas Park so we know it will be a difficult game tomorrow night but we have got to show that we can keep things going too over the last couple of games of the season and we'll be looking to do that."
