The St Mirren Under 19 side lost a late goal this afternoon that forced them to settle for a share of the points in a 2-2 draw against their Aberdeen counterparts at McKenna Park.

After a goalless first half, Sean Burns fired the young Saints into the lead on the 46th minute but within 60 seconds Aberdeen were back on level terms.

Rhys Devlin then shot Saints back into the lead on the 50th minute but thereafter they were under pressure as the Dons pushed for an equaliser - and it eventually came on the 90th minute.

St Mirren line-up: Cunningham, McLennan, Love, Devlin, Gray, Kennedy, Lamont, McKernon, McShane, Ramage, Burns.
Subs: Team, Coyne, Little.

David Longwell (St Mirren's Head of Youth Development) said after the game: "It was disappointing to lose a goal in the last minute but a draw was a fair result.

"Our boys played well in the first half and were the better team but Aberdeen were the better side in the second half."
