St Mirren's Under 19 side drew 1-1 with their Dundee United counterparts in a Clydesdale Bank U19 League fixture at St Andrews University Sports Centre this afternoon.

A first half goal from Kyle Faulds gave the young Saints a half-time lead but United struck back with an equaliser in the second half to claim a share of the points.

David Longwell (St Mirren's Head of Youth Development) said after the game: "It was disappointing not to win the game because at 1-0 up the boys had enough chances to win the game but today we just weren't clinical enough in front of goal.

"Even though it was a pretty scrappy game there were some good performances from some of the boys.

"Overall I'm really pleased with the amount of chances we created today especially as it was against a Dundee United side who are doing really well just now."
