The St Mirren Under 19 side continued their recent run of good form this afternoon with a well earned 2-1 victory in a Clydesdale Bank U19 fixture against Hamilton Academical at Glencairn.

Jon McShane fired the young Saints into a first half lead with a great finish from 18 yards out but Accies pulled a goal back early in the second half.

Then with 8 minutes left on the clock young Mark Lamont scored the winner for St Mirren.

David Longwell (St Mirren's Head of Youth Development) said after the game: "This was a hard fought victory for the boys.

"It was a competitive and pretty even game but the boys deserved their victory as they showed a great attitude and played really well at times."

The Under 19's next outing is this coming Monday evening (March 1st) when they will face Airdrie United at the Excelsior Stadium in the quarter-final of the SFA Youth Cup.  Kick-off will be at 7:30pm.
