U19: Rangers 3-1 St Mirren
This afternoon the St Mirren Under 19's went down 3-1 against their Rangers counterparts at Murray Park.
The home side took the lead early on from a direct free-kick, a lead which held until the half-time break. Then goals in the 52nd and 54th minutes gave the Glasgow side a three goal cushion.
Sixty seconds later Fraser Team pulled a goal back for Saints but despite carving out some more chances they couldn't eat any further into Rangers' lead.
David Longwell (St Mirren's Head of Youth Development) said after the game: "The result was disappointing and our performance wasn't too great as we gave away possession too easily and mistakes costs us goals.
"The boys did try to keep passing the ball and at times they did okay but we didn't take our chances in the first half and made two mistakes in two minutes in the second half which lead to Rangers punishing us for them.
"Fraser Team pulled a goal back for us but we couldn't take any further chances and failed to break Rangers down."
The young Saints next outing is this coming Friday (November 27th) when they will face Hibernian at McKenna Park. Kick-off will be at 1:00pm.
