This afternoon at St Mirren Park, the Saints Under 19 side powered their way to a 3-1 victory over Alloa Athletic which has earned them a place in the 4th Round draw of the SFA Youth Cup.

The young Saints were well on top in the first half and it was no surprise that they went into the interval two goals up thanks to strikes from Ryan Frances and Mark McLennan.

A second half goal from the Wasps and one from Graeme Ramage finished off the scoring in the 3rd Round tie.

David Longwell (St Mirren's Head of Youth Development) said after the game: "The boys did really well this afternoon to earn their place in the next round of the tournament.

"I felt we were better in the first half and were well deserved of our 2-0 lead although with the chances we created it should have been a bigger margin.

"In the second half we weren't quite as good but the main thing is that we have progressed to the next round."
